Yes. You can pay using Visa and MasterCard debit cards. There are a few exceptions: One credit card and one debit card may be required at the counter for higher-value vehicles. The Maestro card is only accepted in Germany. PREPAID cards are accepted online however they are not accepted at the counter which means a non-PREPAID card must be shown at the rental station (together with the PREPAID card). A PREPAID card can be used to pay for the rental at the end of the vehicle hire. Please refer to our location specific terms and conditions for additional information on payment options. Remember, the name on the card must match the driving licence of the main driver. Someone else can't pay on your behalf. And don't forget to bring your payment card when you collect your rental.

The rental agreement will process as normal, so charges will apply to the main account or card, or in some cases the charges are split.

A fixed value voucher only covers hire fees up to a certain amount so you’ll need to provide a payment card in the name of the driver and pay for any extra costs not covered by the voucher. A full credit voucher covers the entire hire, however much it costs. You can pick up a fixed value voucher from a travel agent. Please note that full credit vouchers are only available for business rentals through a corporate travel agent.

Yes, if your company has set up a corporate account with us. Through this account, your company can provide employees with an ACTO (Avis Company Travel Order), which is a special voucher that is handed over when a hire vehicle is collected.

Yes. Our standard hire terms and conditions still apply when you use a voucher. Any extra costs such as fuel and airport charges will be taken using your chosen payment method saved in your account. An ACTO (Avis Company Travel Order) is a special voucher businesses give to staff so they can hire a vehicle with us. Simply show your ACTO, driving licence and company ID when you collect your hire vehicle and we’ll invoice your company directly. These vouchers can’t be used for online bookings.

If you would like to use these vouchers at work, simply set up an Avis corporate account.

You can either pay for your vehicle when you book online, or when you collect your hire vehicle. If you choose to pay when you book online, we’ll dip/swipe your card to gain authorisation. If you choose to pay at the station, we’ll dip/swipe your card to gain authorisation for the estimated full hire cost (including extras) but won’t take payment until you return your vehicle. There are some useful extras such as Fuel Up Front that you can't pay for until you collect your vehicle. These will of course still be reserved for you.

You can redeem your coupon over the phone or in person at your hire station. Coupons cannot currently be used online. However, you can still book your vehicle online and redeem your coupon over the counter. Please note that coupons can only be used on 'pay on collection' bookings.

We're sorry that you've had to cancel your booking with us. Please first ensure that you have read our Booking Conditions for information on cancellation fees. Once your booking is cancelled, contact us using the icons below to request your refund. Any funds that are to be refunded can take up to 5-7 working days from the date they are processed. If there are any extraordinary circumstances that may affect the above timeframe, our customer care team will let you know. If you have cancelled your booking on the same day you created it, there is nothing to refund as the charges would not have been made until midnight. Any item listed on your statement in this case will be a pre-authorisation hold, not a debit.
