Need a new Avis Preferred card? We no longer issue plastic cards but Avis Preferred cards can be downloaded digitally and saved to the wallet on your smartphone by following these steps:

1. Visit our Avis Preferred Card page

2. Enter your Avis Preferred customer number and surname

3. Select the correct language

4. Click ‘create card’

5. You will receive an e-mail to the address registered to your account

6. Download the e-card to your wallet. Instructions are provided based on the operating system of your device.

If you're a member of a loyalty programme with one of our partners, you can collect Frequent Traveller miles or points when you travel with us, in addition to earning rewards through our Avis Preferred loyalty system. Each time you hire a vehicle, you collect points towards one of your loyalty programmes. The amount of points you receive is based on the loyalty programme you are with, so please be sure to check out the above partners link for more information. We give you the chance to collect miles or points through our partners each time you hire a vehicle, so you can continue to receive a premium service at premium value. Please make sure to include your partner membership number at the time of booking. There are times you won't be able to collect miles or points. This will happen if you're a public-sector employee, using a travel industry or airline employee rate, renting a van, or using a substitute, net or tour operator rate. If you hire more than one vehicle from the same location within 24 hours, your miles or points balance will only be credited once.

Yes. Our standard hire terms and conditions still apply when you use a voucher. Any extra costs such as fuel and airport charges will be taken using your chosen payment method saved in your account. It's easy to use a money off or upgrade voucher on your next rental. Simply present the voucher at collection of your next hire car and we'll take care of the rest. Vouchers are valid at all participating rental locations worldwide (listed on the voucher) for a period of 12 months from the date of issue and are pursuant to the terms listed on the vouchers themselves. If you are using a free upgrade coupon, please note than an advance reservation with an upgrade request is required. Any miles or points you collect will usually appear on your next statement. However, it can take a little longer. Rest assured your credits will show up on the following statement, at the latest. We always try our best to give you an upgrade, but when there is a restricted fleet we can sometimes only deliver the reserved model. If you are a member of Avis President’s Club we guarantee an upgrade at airports and railway locations. If you didn’t get the upgrade, email us<avispreferred-service@avis.co.uk> or submit a response in your online account and we will make sure you receive compensation. If you are a member of Avis President’s Club and rented at a city centre location, the upgrade is subject to availability. Standard Avis Preferred cards do not have expiry dates and remain active as long as you rent at least once every three years. Avis Preferred Charge Cards have a Corporate Account expiry date on the front of the card. Avis Preferred Plus and Avis President's Club card holders will find the expiry date on the front of the card. We no longer provide our customers with a plastic membership card so please make sure to download your new card digitally. If you are entitled to a free upgrade due to your Avis Preferred tier, the app has been programmed to offer this automatically. Yes. When your trip is over, you can add your rental online on our website. You can submit a claim by adding the relevant booking details after logging in to your account. You can add a rental up to six months after you have handed in the keys. If you are not able to add the rental, you can contact our customer service here and provide your booking number to post-register your points.


Forgot your Avis Preferred password or your current password is not working? No problem! To reset your password, please follow the steps below:

1. Visit our home page

2. Go to "YOUR AVIS" and click on "FORGOT YOUR DETAILS"?

3. Enter the email address that you use to sign in to your account and click "GO"

4. An email containing a password reset link will be sent to you shortly. It can take a few moments, so please do not re-submit the form

5. Follow the onscreen instructions to create a new password. The password needs to contain both upper and lower case characters as well as a minimum of one numerical character and one special character. The password must contain a minimum of 8 characters.
